Compare monthly fees and credits on the same basis

ElevenLabs public monthly prices are Free $0, Starter $6, Creator $22, Pro $99, Scale $299, and Business $990. Creator may display a 50% first-month discount of $11, but this is not the regular monthly fee.

Monthly credit allowances are 10,000, 30,000, 121,000, 600,000, 1,800,000, and 6,000,000 respectively.

The price list states amounts exclude tax and duties. When paying with a Korean card, final charges include exchange rates, foreign transaction fees, and VAT, so do not treat dollar amounts converted to KRW as a final budget.

Convert credits to actual runtime for planning

Credits are shared across all products. Text to Speech typically consumes 1 credit per character, but models and API usage can reduce this to 0.5–1 credit. Narration, dubbing, music, and voice conversion also draw from the same monthly balance, so assuming 30,000 credits are used solely for narration will misstate actual capacity.

Official price sheet estimates for web TTS are approximately 10 minutes for Free, 30 minutes for Starter, 121 minutes for Creator, and 600 minutes for Pro. These figures are approximate and vary with Korean text length, selected model, playback speed, and regeneration count.

Changing text or settings triggers new billing, so include edit frequency in the budget.

Example monthly credit calculation: weekly script character count × monthly production runs × expected regeneration count + dubbing, music, or other feature usage

For 4 videos per month with 5,000-character scripts edited twice each, the formula yields 5,000 × 4 × 2 = 40,000 credits, which likely exceeds Starter’s 30,000 credits and supports evaluating Creator. If edits are rare and monthly script volume stays under 10,000 characters, Starter’s commercial license may suffice.

Separate plans by commercial use and voice cloning conditions

Free-plan outputs must comply with non-commercial use and attribution requirements. Commercial purposes such as YouTube ad revenue, customer deliverables, or paid courses require at least the Starter license and confirmation of current terms.

Paid subscription does not confer rights to input scripts, music, images, or cloned voices.

Instant Voice Cloning is available from Starter; Professional Voice Cloning requires Creator. Use Starter for quick tests with short samples, and Creator for stable long-term reproduction of your own voice. Cloning another person’s voice always requires explicit consent and legal authorization regardless of plan.

For teams of two or more, review Scale or Business plans that include seats rather than sharing a single personal account. Shared logins cannot separate work history and permissions and may not be consistent with the service terms.

Validate the appropriate plan in seven steps before payment

1. Open the ElevenLabs pricing page and check the Monthly billing screen to confirm regular monthly fees and first-month discounts separately.
2. Enter last month’s script character count and expected regeneration count into the cost calculator to estimate monthly credit needs.
3. In the Subscription usage screen, verify credits consumed by dubbing, music, voice conversion, and other features in addition to TTS.
4. If monetizing videos or delivering to customers, restrict candidates to paid plans that allow commercial use.
5. In the Voices menu, confirm availability of Instant Voice Cloning and Professional Voice Cloning to set the boundary between Starter and Creator.
6. Build a KRW budget sheet that includes the dollar monthly fee, card issuer exchange rate, foreign transaction fee, and estimated VAT for approval.
7. Pay for one month only, then review actual usage and remaining credits in the Subscription screen before deciding to maintain, upgrade, or downgrade.

Completion criteria are: production stays within the chosen plan’s monthly credits, commercial-use conditions are met, and cloned-voice consent records are stored with the project files.

Diagnose credit exhaustion and unexpected charges

If credits deplete faster than expected, first check usage by product—web TTS, API, dubbing, music, and voice conversion. Regenerating the same text with changed settings or audio parameters counts as a new generation and incurs additional credits.

New subscriptions allow purchasing prepaid Pay As You Go credits, but verify 12-month validity and plan-specific conversion rates.

Unused credits can roll over for up to two billing cycles while the paid subscription is active, except for Free. Cancelling or downgrading forfeits remaining paid credits after the current billing cycle ends, so capture the balance and end date via screenshot before clicking Change.

If the Subscription menu or payment button is missing, reload the page in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox and disable pop-up blockers. For persistent failures, prepare the account email, payment timestamp, and error screenshot before contacting official support.

Do not create multiple accounts to bypass free limits; instead, compare alternative TTS services with formal plans for urgent production needs.
