AI Assistant is an add-on to an Acrobat plan
Adobe's PDF summary and question feature is not a separate product but the "AI Assistant Plus" add-on to an Acrobat plan.
Adobe's Korean pricing page lists the add-on at ₩6,600 per month (VAT included) and says it works with Acrobat Reader, Standard or Pro.
Adding it to the free Reader is the cheapest combination, but Reader has no editing, conversion or e-signature, so anything beyond summarizing calls for Standard or Pro as well. [1][3]
| Plan | Annual commitment, billed monthly | Annual, prepaid | Monthly, no commitment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acrobat Standard | ₩17,600/month | ₩211,200/year | ₩30,800/month |
| Acrobat Pro | ₩26,400/month | ₩316,800/year | ₩39,600/month |
| AI Assistant Plus add-on | ₩6,600/month | Not shown separately on the pricing page | Not shown separately on the pricing page |

The same Pro plan costs a different amount per year depending on how you pay. The annual commitment billed monthly comes to ₩316,800, the prepaid annual plan is also ₩316,800, but the no-commitment monthly plan is ₩475,200 over twelve months.
Monthly is cheaper if you need it for a few months; the annual commitment is cheaper if you will use it for a year or more. Team and enterprise prices are not on the pricing page and come from a sales inquiry. [1]
Cancellation costs depend on how you pay
Adobe's subscription terms separate the cancellation rules by payment type. Whatever the type, cancelling within 14 days of the first order gives a full refund.
After 14 days, cancelling an annual commitment billed monthly triggers a one-time charge of the difference between what you paid and the month-to-month rate for the period used, plus 10% of the annual commitment amount; a prepaid annual plan is not refunded; and a monthly plan is not refunded but continues until the end of that month's billing period. [2]
| Payment type | Cancel within 14 days | Cancel after 14 days |
|---|---|---|
| Annual commitment, billed monthly | Full refund | Difference for the period used + 10% of the annual amount |
| Annual, prepaid | Full refund | No refund; access continues for the remaining term |
| Monthly, no commitment | Full refund | No refund; access continues to the end of the month |

For example, cancelling Acrobat Pro on the annual commitment (₩26,400 per month) after three months would be charged as the ₩39,600 difference between the ₩79,200 already paid and three months at the monthly rate (₩118,800), plus 10% of the ₩316,800 annual amount (₩31,680), for ₩71,280.
The exact figure is shown on the cancellation screen, so check it before confirming. The example applies the terms' method literally and can differ from an actual invoice. [2]
How to cancel and confirm
These are the steps Adobe's help center gives for a personal account. If you have several plans, cancel each separately; cancelling one leaves the others active. A license assigned by an organization's admin has no cancel button here and is handled by that admin. [4]
- Sign in at account.adobe.com/plans, find the plan to cancel and select Manage plan.
- Select Cancel my plan. The button can be missing while a payment is being processed or has a problem.
- Review the plan details and select Continue.
- Select a reason for cancelling and select Continue.
- Review the cancellation details (end date, charge or refund) and select Confirm cancellation.
Once done, Adobe sends a confirmation email and the status is also visible at account.adobe.com/plans. Paid apps and services remain available until the end of the current billing period, and the Adobe account itself stays.
If no confirmation email arrives and the plans screen does not change, a payment issue has blocked the cancellation, so check the payment details first. [4]
What stays and what goes after cancelling
Cancelling only the AI Assistant add-on keeps the Acrobat plan and turns off summarizing and questions after the billing period ends. Cancelling the whole Acrobat plan removes paid features such as editing and conversion after the billing period, while Reader's free features and the account remain.
If you have both, check the plan names on the plans screen so you cancel the right one. [4]
The normal state is an end date on the plans screen and a confirmation email. If Adobe charges keep appearing on the card statement after the next billing date, check the plans screen for another plan that is still active, and contact Adobe support if it still does not match.
When this setup is not the right one

If you summarize only occasionally and the documents may be uploaded to an outside service, a signed-in free ChatGPT account or signed-out Gemini can also summarize PDFs, so check the limits in Summarizing PDFs with ChatGPT before paying for an add-on.
For company documents, check the organization's data policy first, whichever service you use.
If you also need editing, e-signatures or conversion, Reader plus the add-on is not enough: choose Standard or Pro, and if a full year is not certain, start on the monthly plan with no cancellation fee and switch to the annual commitment later. Prices and terms change, so re-read Adobe's pricing page and subscription terms before paying. [1][2]
